Ola Spjuth obtained his PhD from Uppsala University in 2009 at the Department of Pharmaceutical Bioscience.
He did postgradual studies at Karolinska Institutet and the Finnish Institute for Molecular Medicine (FIMM) 2010-2014 and is now working as a researcher and Docent in Pharmaceutical Bioinformatics at Uppsala University and Science for Life Laboratory in Sweden.
His main research interests are in high-performance bioinformatics and e-Science methods for improving drug discovery and cancer research, and for translating next-generation sequencing to the clinic.
He leads the national UPPNEX project providing e-infrastructure resources for data-intensive life science research including massively parallel sequencing and high-throughput drug screening.
