Dr. Lobaskin is a lecturer in Computational Nano-Bio Physics in the UCD School of Physics.

Dr Lobaskin has received PhD from Urals State Technical university in Russia, joined UCD from the Biological Soft Matter Theory, Department of Physics of the Technical University of Munich, and previously worked in the Theory Group, Max Plank Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany, the Department of Physics at University of Fribourg, Switzerland, and Lund University.

The research interests of Dr. Lobaskin lie in the area of theory and simulation of nanostructured biosystems.

His main scientific contributions are related to structure and interactions in colloidal dispersions, mechanics of biomolecules, active matter and collective phenomena.

He is a lead PI and coordinator of a EU FP7 project on modelling toxicity of engineered nanomaterials “MembraneNanoPart”.
