S4: Ontologies for Interoperability of Data in Predictive Toxicology, Risk and Safety Assessment

Session 4 Chair: Helen Pan

Session 3 Chair: Helen Pan, OpenTox USA 2018
PRESENTING AUTHOR:
Helen Pan
ABSTRACT CONTENT / DETAILS:

Data standards are essential to enable broad data sharing and reuse. The use of data and metadata standards help making data more Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR).

CHAIR PROFILE:

Dr. Helen Pan is a Bioinformatician at RTI International (https://www.rti.org/). She has over two decades of experience in data analysis, management, standardization and harmonization.

SESSION DESCRIPTION:

Today, predictive toxicology relies heavily on a diverse array of datatypes spanning in vitro, laboratory animal toxicology, epidemiology, and ecology. Integration of these data requires formal mechanisms for describing the data and the biological objects and processes that the data represent.
