Vladimir Lobaskin obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Solid State Physics (1989) from Chelyabinsk State University (CSU) and a Ph.D. (1993) from the Urals State Technical University (UPI). He took then a lecturer position in the Physics Department of Chelyabinsk State University.
