OpenTox Association — Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the OpenTox Association. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your membership, event registrations, webinars, training courses, and use of our official website and digital services. By registering for an event, purchasing a membership, or accessing our platforms, you agree to comply with these Terms.

1. About the Association

The OpenTox Association is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the promotion, open science development, and exchange of scientific data, frameworks, and tools in predictive toxicology and safety assessment.

2. Memberships

  • Eligibility: Membership is open to students, researchers, academics, and industry professionals who agree to support the mission of open science.
  • Duration: Memberships are active on an annual basis from the date of payment approval.
  • Renewal: Memberships do not automatically renew. You will receive an invitation to manually renew your membership every year.

3. Registrations, Webinars, and Trainings

  • Access: Upon successful payment processing, you will receive digital access credentials, links, or instructions to attend the selected online training or webinar.
  • Prohibited Sharing: Your event links, login tokens, and training materials are personal to you and cannot be shared, sold, or distributed to non-registered individuals.

4. Code of Conduct & Intellectual Property

  • Professional Conduct: OpenTox fosters a collaborative and respectful scientific community. Harassment, abuse, or disruption during live webinars or in member forums will result in immediate termination of your access without a refund.
  • Scientific Materials: All presentation slides, videos, and documentation provided during events remain the intellectual property of the OpenTox Association or the respective speakers. You may use these materials for personal research and educational purposes only. Commercial redistribution is strictly prohibited.

5. Pricing and Currency

  • Transaction Currency: All fees for registrations, events, courses, and memberships are listed and processed securely in Euro (EUR) (Note: change to CHF or USD if your setup uses a different primary currency).
  • Fee Structure: Fees vary by participant category (e.g., discounted student rates vs. industry standard rates). You must provide valid proof of status (e.g., an academic email address) if registering under a discounted tier.

6. Payment Processing Security

All online financial transactions are handled securely through our third-party payment infrastructure partner, Payrexx. The OpenTox Association does not collect, capture, or store your credit card or financial authentication data on our servers.

7. Limitation of Liability

The OpenTox Association provides academic and scientific information for educational and community collaboration purposes. While we strive for accuracy, the association is not responsible for any research outcomes, regulatory compliance issues, or business decisions made based on information presented during our webinars, courses, or events.

8. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time to reflect updates in our association bylaws or legal compliance requirements.
